Approximately a two hour drive north-west of Melbourne, Maryborough is central to Ballarat and Bendigo. Maryborough boasts a mix of rich heritage, new facilities and retail that would be the envy of many regional communities. Over the past 2 years, Maryborough has had record levels of residential development.
In recent times, a substantial amount of money has been invested to ensure Maryborough remains one of the Goldfield's 'Golden Nuggets', and continues to grow as a community anyone would dream being a part of.

New jobs are about to be created at Maryborough’s Capilano Honey, as the state minister for Regional Development visited the site and announced a $610,000 fund in Regional Jobs and Infrastructure towards re-establishing the local facility
• The return of passenger rail commenced on the 4th July 2010
• Further restoration works at Maryborough Railway Station- Completed
• Station domain, Shire Offices and Community Hub including a local community radio station Gold FM $8.0 mil- Completed
• New "Maryborough Education Centre" $30 mil- Completed
• Maryborough Hospital upgrades $20 mil - Completed

• Asphalting firm (Centre State Asphalt) has completed relocation to Maryborough

• Capilano Honey has returned to Maryborough in late 2015 re-establishing a full processing and packing facility
